Rory Cowlam, known online as 'Rory the Vet', is a veterinary surgeon and Clinical Director at Pickles Vets in London, having graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2015. Alongside his clinical work, Rory has built a thriving public profile as a TV presenter and content creator, appearing on CBBC's The Pets Factor, ITV, and a range of other well-known shows, while his Instagram account @rorythevet has grown into one of the UK's most-followed veterinary platforms.
Rory is a passionate advocate for animal welfare and accessible veterinary care, and has been a proud StreetVet Ambassador and volunteer since the early days of one of the initial outreach stations in Clapham. He is also an Ambassador for the British Dyslexia Association and the RSPCA.
When he's not in clinic, on screen, or out on the streets with StreetVet, Rory can usually be found with his family and his lurcher Nala on the south coast of England.
"StreetVet represents everything I believe veterinary care should be — compassionate, accessible, and community-driven. Watching this charity grow from a small group of volunteers in London into a national movement has been genuinely inspiring, and being an Ambassador is one of the things I'm most proud of. The people behind StreetVet — the vets, nurses, and supporters — give their time selflessly to help the most vulnerable members of our communities and their beloved animals. I'm honoured to be part of that." – Rory Cowlam
