Dr Sabrina Cohen-Hatton KFSM has been a proud StreetVet Ambassador since July 2022. After leaving home at 15 and school at 16, Sabrina experienced significant adversity, including a period of homelessness with her beloved dog, Menace. During that time, Menace was her constant companion and source of stability, and Sabrina has spoken openly about the barriers she faced accessing support because there were so few pet-friendly accommodation options available. 

Despite these challenges, Sabrina went on to build an exceptional career in the fire and rescue service and now holds the highest operational rank in the UK fire service as a Chief Fire Officer. She is also an internationally recognised expert in risk-critical decision-making, with a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology, a Master's in International Fire Service Development and a PhD in Behavioural Neuroscience. 

A bestselling author, her memoir The Heat of the Moment has been published internationally. Sabrina is also an Ambassador for The Big Issue and supports Homewards, The Royal Foundation's programme working to demonstrate that homelessness can be ended. 

Drawing on her own lived experience, Sabrina is passionate about StreetVet's mission to protect the bond between those experiencing homelessness and their pets. StreetVet is honoured to have her support.
