Clare Balding CBE is one of Britain’s most respected broadcasters, authors and animal advocates. With a career spanning more than 30 years, she has presented some of the UK’s biggest sporting and cultural events, including the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Wimbledon, horse racing and Crufts, and continues to host the popular BBC Radio 4 series Ramblings. 

An award-winning presenter, Clare received the BAFTA Special Award for her coverage of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. She is also a bestselling author whose memoir My Animals and Other Family topped the Sunday Times bestseller list and won National Book Award Biography of the Year. A lifelong animal lover, Clare is passionate about celebrating the bond between people and their pets. She and her wife, Alice, shared many happy years with their beloved Tibetan Terrier, Archie. 

A proud StreetVet Ambassador since 2020, Clare has been a passionate supporter of the charity’s work, helping to raise awareness of the vital role pets play in the lives of those experiencing homelessness. Clare also won £20,000 for StreetVet on ITV’s Tipping Point: Lucky Stars, making a significant contribution to the charity’s mission to keep pets healthy, happy and together with their owners.
