Lorraine Kelly CBE is one of the UK’s most loved broadcasters, with a career in television, journalism and charity work spanning more than four decades. Best known for hosting her own ITV morning show Lorraine, she has become a trusted and familiar presence in millions of homes across the country.
Born in Glasgow, Lorraine began her career as a journalist at The East Kilbride News before moving into television with BBC Scotland. She later became TV-am’s Scottish correspondent, reporting on major national stories, and went on to present some of Britain’s best-known breakfast television programmes. In recognition of her contributions to broadcasting and charitable causes, Lorraine was appointed OBE in 2012 and was awarded a CBE in 2020.
A passionate animal lover, Lorraine lives with her husband Steve and their much-loved Border Terrier, Angus, and regularly looks after Ruby, her daughter Rosie’s Miniature Dachshund. Throughout her career, she has championed the positive impact pets have on our wellbeing and the important role they play in tackling loneliness and isolation.
Lorraine became a StreetVet Ambassador in July 2023 and is proud to support the charity’s mission to keep those experiencing homelessness and their beloved pets together.
Lorraine says: “I love the special bond created between all the dogs I have had in my life. I fully appreciate the crucial role they play every day in my wellbeing. Supporting StreetVet and its mission is a way to give back something to pets and owners in need, ensuring more people can enjoy this special bond for years to come.”
